     If you've found your way on to my page, welcome! Let me take a moment to introduce myself: 

    My name is Hailey Whitfield, sales coordinator by day, student at night. I started my journey at LBCC in 2018 after graduating from a small town less than an hours drive away. Over the course of that time, I've learned a career in healthcare may not be my calling, I took a gap year to explore my career options, I married my high school sweetheart, and I adopted 2 dogs. 

    So here I am, 20 years old, embarking on a new journey in the world of business. After getting a job in sales, I've become more interested in pursuing a degree in business management. Although, I'm perfectly open to the idea of marketing... hence... why I am here! What I would like to take away from this course is more information on the promotional and social side of marketing. I know that's very broad, but I am here to take it all in. I consider myself an observant and social person, so anything having to do with public relations or social media seems more my speed. 


    What are my passions you might ask? Hanging out with my dogs. I have a chocolate lab and a frenchton (boston terrier & french bulldog mix). With both being very energetic breeds, they have made me out to be more of an outdoor enthusiast than I thought I would ever be. Outside of my pets, my life revolves heavily around my family and friends. With my husband being deployed at the moment, I spend a lot of time just being present in my family's everyday activities in whatever way I can be and keeping up with my friends who are both full-time students.

Marketing in the News: Social Marketing Budgets.

     Let's get into it. In this last week of studies, one thing has stuck out to me: when we're talking social marketing budgets, most businesses and corporations aren't spending enough. Why? Reason #1: They're not willing to take the risk when it comes to remarkable ideas ( Godin, Seth. Purple Cow: Transform Your Business by Being Remarkable . Portfolio, 2004) .
